Leicester AIDS Support Services (LASS) formed in 1987 when a group of nearly 50 people gathered together with the shared intent to address HIV and AIDS related issues. LASS started off as an information helpline and matured to offer direct services including financial support for PLWHA. LASS has grown to be an international leader in the fight against HIV, winning the support of Desmond Tutu as its first international patron in 2012.
