Founded in 1828 Queen’s College focused on education ministers for the Church of England. In 1970, Queen’s College sponsored by the Church of England, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church became the first ecumenical theological college in Britain. According to their website, “the Selly Oak Centre for Mission Studies – the successor body to the United College of the Ascension –  training mission students and mission partners from the wider world church and the churches in Britain.”
