About the Campaign

The primary goal of the GWG’s 2031 SAVE Campaign is to aggressively engage, petition, and raise consciousness of faith communities and  ECSA states to invest in policies, strategic plans, community level programs, human resource allocation quotas, budgets, researches and prayers that significantly reduce SSDDIM, multiply SAVE and overcome HIV at individual, family, local community, national level and regional levels.

Specifically, the desired outcomes of the 2031 SAVE Campaign are:

To significantly reduce the number of new HIV infections and transmissions that happen through:

  • Unprotected sexual intercourse with HIV positive and sero- status ‘blind’ sexual partners;
  • HIV positive mothers transmitting the virus to their babies during pregnancy, at birth and while breastfeeding;
  • Unsafe blood contact and mixing through unsafe injections, unsafe circumcision, unsafe blood transfusion and through other skin piercing, skin penetrating and skin cutting behaviors  and practices that may be unsafe;

To increase the number of people accessing AIDS related counseling, testing, treatment, general health and nutrition services and community care programs in a stigma-free, loving , compassionate and human rights sensitive  manner;

To reduce the number of children, youth, women, men, families, communities, and nations in ECSA that are vulnerable to preventable and controllable infections, illnesses, and deaths related to HIV/AIDS, opportunistic infections, and other diseases and conditions of poverty.
